Skills Ladder Ltd
The Old Chandlery, St Marys Lane, Tewkesbury, GL20 5SF

We may be a small company, but we believe every business has the opportunity to make a positive difference.

At Skills Ladder Ltd, we believe that social value is about more than the training we deliver. As a training company, we have an important role to play in supporting individuals, our local community and the wider economy.

Through digital inclusion, skills development and support for our local community, we use our knowledge, time and resources to make a positive contribution

Supporting Digital Inclusion

Technology is an essential part of modern life, but not everyone feels confident using it.

As part of our commitment to our local community, we provide free, informal digital support to older residents in our local area.

Our support is available to help with everyday technology issues, such as:

  • Forgotten passwords and account access
  • iPad and Mac problems
  • Software and operating system updates
  • General problems with devices
  • Helping people understand and use their technology with greater confidence

We know that what may seem like a small technical problem can be a significant barrier for someone who is less confident with technology. By offering our expertise free of charge to some of our local residents, we aim to help people remain connected, independent and confident in using digital technology.

Supporting Our Local Community

We recognise that, as a small business, our contribution may sometimes be modest, but we believe that businesses of every size can make a meaningful difference when they contribute consistently to the communities in which they operate.

Supporting our community isn’t limited to the services we provide as a business. Members of the Skills Ladder team contribute their time and energy to local causes through charitable fundraising and volunteering.

Helping Adults Develop Skills For Employment

Developing digital skills can have a lasting impact on an individual’s confidence, employability and ability to participate fully in the workplace.

Through our training, we aim to:

  • Help adults develop practical digital and workplace skills
  • Improve confidence in using technology
  • Support individuals to develop skills that employers value
  • Help learners overcome barriers to developing their digital skills
  • Support progression towards employment, further learning and personal development

As a training provider, we are particularly conscious of the role that accessible, high-quality training can play in helping people improve their future opportunities.

Responsible Business

We aim to operate Skills Ladder Ltd in a responsible and sustainable way.

This includes:

  • Treating learners, employees, partners and other stakeholders fairly and with respect
  • Promoting equality, inclusion and accessibility
  • Providing a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Protecting personal information and respecting confidentiality
  • Using resources responsibly and reducing unnecessary waste
  • Making use of digital processes where appropriate to reduce paper use
  • Supporting local organisations and suppliers where practical
  • Ensuring that our business practices reflect our values and responsibilities as a training provider

Our approach to responsible business is supported by our wider policies and procedures, including our Quality, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Environmental and Risk Management arrangements.

We are proud of the contribution we already make, but we also recognise that social value is something that should continue to develop.
