Training for changing roles at a nationwide hi-tech health sector company

The company wanted to improve productivity, and the method and manner in which they communicate. They requested a training solution that wouldn’t demand large amounts of time away from the office and would deliver measurable improvement”.

Workskills devised a course to suit their needs using a combination of on-site training, email and remote support. This training was then conducted at the employee’s own pace and at times which were convenient to their workload.
 

Our solution

We visited the company over several weeks to find out about their internal system and software. We then devised a bespoke training course that blended productivity applications  - such as email, word processing and spreadsheets - with their own systems. The course was also designed to help staff with any numeracy or literacy issues.

Over the course of a year we delivered online and on site training sessions that included a variety of elements such as quizzes and videos. Each person was assigned an individual trainer, who provided a considerable amount of personal support, including after course completion.

During the course, we identified a number of people who were unfamiliar with the company's internal systems. This enabled the company's support staff to provide these individuals with appropriate help.
 

Developing higher skills

We also ran a course for a group of IT support technicians, leading to a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals. The course was designed to give those with greater IT skills a higher, technical level qualification.
